I've just returned back to Bangkok to find that my blog has been blocked?? I would be interested to know if this is just in Thailand or elsewhere too. Drop me a message / mail to let me know whether you can load this blog from http://stujay.blogspot.com - pls include the date / time too. I'm interested to see what's going on. Stu.

ok.. have found out from this site
http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=197093&st=0&gopid=2058287&#entry2058287 that the Thai Government in all their wisdom have blocked all blogger blogs in an attempt to block some guy's political blog.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon!

Good to see a new post here in 2008! I think it would be cool if you wrote a post about learning languages that are related linguistically (Mandarin and Cantonese, English and Danish, etc.) and languages that are only related culturally (Mandarin and Thai or English and Spanish).

Could it be only TOT doing it? I'm on true and just got back to Bangkok myself, and your blog loads normally, as does mine. Or has the problem cleared up by now?

No problem from the U.S. My friend's blog was taken off the internet...national security. He's a camera man for a local TV station and the Army apparently didn't like what he was writing whilst on tour in Iraq. He is now safely back in Denver.

Have a great time in Vietnam!

Works fine from the Netherlands...

Maybe it's because of you not posting anything in such a time? :-)

Or it's because of the Thai government liking censorism too much...

Sorry to hijack this comment spot with an unrelated topic, but I had a question:

I am an avid language learner, and constantly searching for the best methods of learning and acquiring language. I was inspired by your article about the first 4 days of your progress in learning Vietnamese. At the end of the post you mentioned that you would detail how you acquire so much vocabulary early on and which words you target. I guess the follow-up post never got written :-(, but I would greatly appreciate if you could describe your method. I am currently in the process of devising a language learning website based on all the theory and discussion I have gathered and experienced in my own language learning adventures, and I have come to the conclusion that having a large vocabulary early on would be a huge advantage. Any tips you may have would be VERY helpful (especially the part about which words you target)!
